The Steinbrenner Institute invites you to join us for the public talks that will occur on Friday, February 22 and Sunday, February 24 as a part of the annual Environment Today weekend immersion course. The course is co-presented by The Steinbrenner Institute, the Office of the Vice Provost for Education and Sustainable Earth. The course will be instructed by Professor Jeanne M VanBriesen, Ph.D., P.E. and Professor Daniel J. Bain, Ph.D.
The "Environment Today" is an annual mini‐course that brings students together over a weekend to learn about environmental issues affecting our region and cities around the planet. The theme for the spring 2013 ENVIRONMENT TODAY course is the “Three Es of Water”. The environmental impacts, economic issues and equity considerations associated with water resources will be explored through focus on a specific critical example: Urban Stream Restoration. Speakers will focus on the policy, protection, health and history in relation to our urban water resources and their restoration.
Community members, faculty, staff and students are invited to join us in Porter Hall, Porter 100 for the Friday evening keynote talks, as well, as the two Sunday lectures.
